The NEar Galaxy SAGA
“In our desperation we sought almighty God, only to find our comprehension so lacking that we could never understand his love for us. It was such with the abject horror that invaded our borders, as we could no more comprehend the alien mind than we could know the heart of God.”
Sharman Cruz (extract from the Book of Memories) 2398
The Inventor
In the shadow of a shattered galactic civilization, Commander Muse Maverick and his eccentric crew of relic hunters embark on a mission to unlock the last of the ancient domes. Vast bio-arcs constructed to preserve life from the devastating war against the Kin, a monstrous race that devoured entire worlds.

The Battlewitch
Picking up from the Inventor. The Battlewitch plots the continuing search for the Galbradian Dome. And see's the evolution of Jes1ca and her alter ego that was created as killing machine during the first Kin war. Again we see the backdrop of good and evil , friendship , love and betrayal unfold as the Near Galaxy is thrust once more into a struggle for its very existence.
Galbradia
Jars Fen Dara could see it, the power and madness, a flicker of fire from the burning heart of the universe that called those like himself. A vessel to be filled by the “The Rage” its singular purpose was to keep the eternal balance. He laughed at the absurdity of it all, the heart of universe and creator of life choosing him to oppose the darkness and destroyer of worlds

Elshara
Her space docks were crammed with the trade galleons, merchant barges and the dark menacing shapes of Brotherhood war craft, whilst down through the light blue water laden atmosphere close on a billion inhabitants spread across the green life bearing southern hemisphere. In stark contrast the northern hemisphere lay clothed under a permanent dark shroud of thunderclouds and isolated behind the mighty spirit wall the population stood at zero and had been since the division of Elshara two hundred generations previously.
HMSS Broadside
In the late Twenty Second century the Royal Navy dispatched a fleet of four Corsair class destroyers to track down those responsible for a catalogue of atrocities on the outlying colonies of Seela Vi and Carathune. Her Majesty’s Spaceship (HMSS) Hood and Exeter were lost during the voyage across the near Galaxy whilst HMSS Penrose and Broadside were separated during the same ambush. All were thought lost without trace, until by chance one hundred and twenty standard sol years later. The aptly named deep space research station Dog Two at the edge of the Dog Star constellation recovered the first of what appears to be the final journals of HMSS Broadside.
The Eternals
They were once the shining guardians that ushered in the second Galactic age. But now like the creatures that have long passed to legend they too are fading as their power weakens. But they have one last enemy to defeat. That threatens the humanity they have cared for and protected since the firmament rose from the waters.

The old SC-FI Masters
I love the phrase , too young to be feeling old like this . But as a budding something or other in my younger days , and before the advent of the tech these guys were writing about, we had books. And what I read between the pages of these novels opened my eyes to the incredible possibilities we have as a human race. Yes we have wars and get it wrong, but how beautiful we are when we dream and when we create and not destroy. For me the masters below and others too many to mention don't just write fiction but in many cases write the future. So if you are just starting out on your Sci-Fi journey take a look and remember when these books were originally penned and the incredible foresight of the authors. And how we do truly stand on the shoulders of giants.
