About the NEar Galaxy
A Story Spanning Ages, civilisations and the fate of creation
The Near Galaxy Saga is an epic science-fantasy series that unfolds across two Galactic Ages and countless generations, weaving together the stories of heroes, villains, lost civilisations, ancient mysteries and the eternal struggle between light and darkness. At its heart lies a single question that echoes through every world, every legend and every age:

Where and what is the fabled the Heart of the Universe?
To some it is a myth.
To others, a religion.
To the ancient Eternals, it is home.
And to the forces of darkness, it is the ultimate prize.

The First Galactic Age
Long before humanity reached the stars, powerful civilisations flourished throughout the Near Galaxy.
Among them stood the mighty world of Galbradia, a civilisation of extraordinary technological achievement and ambition. Yet beneath its shining achievements, darker forces were already at work. Ancient evils stirred, ambition corrupted, and the delicate balance that governed existence began to fracture. At the centre of these events stands Jars Fen Dara, an unlikely hero burdened by a force known as The Rage. The Rage is neither blessing nor curse. It is the embodiment of balance itself, burning within chosen individuals and compelling them to stand against darkness wherever it emerges. As ancient threats awaken and entire worlds slide towards catastrophe, Jars finds himself drawn into a conflict far greater than anything he could have imagined.
During this age the Near Galaxy encounters its greatest nightmare. The Kin.
Ancient beyond measure and driven by endless hunger, the Kin are not conquerors in the traditional sense. They do not seek territory, wealth or power. They consume.
Worlds, civilisations and entire species fall before them as they spread through the stars. Their purpose is singular and terrifying: to find and control the Heart of the Universe itself.
As the Kin sweep across the galaxy, Galbradia fights desperately to survive. During this struggle the first truly self-aware artificial intelligence, Jes1ca, is created. What begins as a technological marvel soon becomes something far greater. Weaponised in the desperate struggle against extinction, Jes1ca evolves into the legendary Battlewitch, one of the most powerful and enigmatic figures in galactic history. But even heroes cannot stop the tide forever.
Facing annihilation, the Galbradians undertake one final act of hope.
Across the galaxy they construct vast biological sanctuaries known as the Domes, hidden arks designed to preserve life, knowledge and civilisation until a future age can reclaim them.
As the First Galactic Age comes to an end, the Kin consume almost everything in their path.
The lights of civilisation go dark. The galaxy falls silent. Only the Domes remain.
Running parallel to the events of Galbradia is the story of Elshara, one of the most beautiful and mysterious worlds in the Near Galaxy.A planet divided between light and darkness, Elshara becomes the stage for another battle in the war for balance.
Here the force known as Malice emerges.
Where The Rage represents balance and resistance against darkness, Malice is corruption given form. It infects minds, twists purpose and transforms entire societies. Behind the mighty Spirit Wall, the dark side of Elshara festers and grows stronger. Ancient dragons fall, kingdoms collapse and old alliances shatter.
Through the stories of Orca Bloodstone, March Jin Mei and the legendary Firestorm. Elshara chronicles the gradual fall of an entire civilisation as darkness gains ground and ultimately, Elshara suffers the same fate as countless other worlds as the Kin arrive.
And the end of the First Galactic Age is ushered in.
Yet hidden beneath the ashes of defeat remain secrets, relics and clues that will one day shape the future of the galaxy.

The Second Galactic Age
Thousands of years later, civilisation rises once more as Humanity inherits a galaxy built upon forgotten history. Most know nothing of Galbradia, Elshara, the Domes or the ancient wars that nearly destroyed all life.
And legends have become myths.
The truths have become rumours.
And the Heart of the Universe has become little more than a story.
That is about to change.

The Second Galactic Age begins on Earth, where humanity has spread across the stars but remains divided by power, inequality and political control. Here a young man named Levi finds himself drawn into a struggle against a system known as Neversleep. What begins as a local rebellion gradually expands into a conflict that will determine the future of humanity itself. As Levi uncovers hidden truths, he discovers that ancient forces are still moving behind the scenes.

The mysterious Eternals, guardians of life and balance since the dawn of creation, have not vanished.
Their power has faded. Their numbers have dwindled. But their mission remains unchanged.
To protect life and the Heart of the Universe. They know darkness is returning.
And they know humanity is about to become the next battleground.
And whilst humanity struggles to define its future, events elsewhere in the galaxy old nightmares awaken As Muse Maverick, responding to ancient beacon awakens the Kin from Hibernation. In The Inventor, Muse Maverick and his team discover dome 301 on the icy world of Darus Prime, uncovering secrets connected to Jes1ca, the Clegg people and a mysterious child named Poppy.
In The Battlewitch, the search for surviving Domes intensifies as Jes1ca confronts the legacy of the
weapon she once became. And the evolution she must make.

In Ship of Fools, explorers uncover long-lost vessels, forgotten histories and clues that lead towards the legendary Lost Legends arc. Across these stories, the scale of the conflict grows ever larger as old enemies rise and ancient truths emerge from the shadows.

Everything ultimately leads back to one mystery. The Heart of the Universe. It is described differently by every civilisation. Some believe it is a star. Others claim it is a living consciousness. Some describe it as music, a feeling, a source of creation itself. What all accounts agree upon is this:
The Heart is the origin of life, intelligence, love and creation. Without it, the stars would fade.
Without it, life would cease to exist. Without it, darkness would reign forever.
The Heart also the ancient home of the Eternals, is hidden somewhere beyond the reach of known civilisation. The clue to its location scattered across history through myths, artifacts, forgotten languages and clues hidden within the Domes themselves.
Every major power seeks it. Every legend points towards it. And every story within the Near Galaxy Saga moves inexorably towards its discovery.

The Final Battle
As the saga progresses, characters from every age, world and story line converge , summoned across time by the remaining power of the Eternals.
Heroes and villains.Humans and immortals.Machines and monsters.Ancient legends and modern warriors. Destinies collide in Heart of the Universe, the climactic conclusion to a story that spans millennia. And what begins as a struggle for survival becomes a battle for existence itself.
The ultimate question is no longer who will control the Heart. It is whether creation itself deserves to survive.

The Near Galaxy Saga is ultimately a story about hope in the face of despair, friendship forged through adversity, the dangers of unchecked darkness and the enduring belief that even in the vastness of space, a single spark of light can change the fate of the universe.

For across every age and every civilisation, one truth remains:

Darkness may define the light, but it can never extinguish it.
